Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Solid Snake

Now a member of anti-proliferation ogranization "Philanthropy", Snake is entrusted with the task of eliminating Metal Gear Ray, a nuclear-weapon-armed mecha.

Raiden

Raiden(Jack) sent as a replace for the decease snake to take on "The Sons of Liberty",a terrorist group holding the u.s. president and a big secret. Raiden holds a terrible past that will be reveal later in the game.

Rosemary

Rosemary (or Rose for short) is Raiden's girlfriend and a data analyst for the United States Army. During the Big Shell incident, she was assigned to save Raiden's mission data (the player's progress). During the mission, she provides background information about the terrorists and other individuals involved in the incident.

Otacon

Otacon(Dr. Hal Emmerich) and Solid Snake forms Philanthropy, an anti-proliferation organization. Otacon supports Snake via the radio as he infiltrates a converted tanker to photograph Metal Gear RAY, and, later, supports him as he infiltrates the Big Shell in a bid to rescue his foster sister, Emma, and then attempts to destroy Arsenal Gear.

Olga Gurlukovich

Begins as a member of the Russian mercenary group (the Gurlukovich Mercenaries) that seeks to hijack Metal Gear RAY. After she gave birth, her child was taken hostage, and used as a means by which to force Olga into serving the Patriots. At the end of the game, Snake promised Raiden that he would find Olga's child as long as Raiden keeps himself alive.

Emma Emmerich

Emma Emmerich Danziger (nicknamed "E.E.") is an AI programmer and the stepsister of Hal Emmerich. She is in charge of developing the AI that controls Arsenal Gear. Afterwards, she resigned from the NSA and was recruited by the Patriots, where set to work on programming a highly advanced AI called GW, hich would be used by the Patriots to control the flow of information and the imparting of Memes between the generations.

The Colonel

Col. Roy Campbell, Solid Snake's commanding officer and close friend. Col. Campbell serves as Raiden's commanding officer, supporting him via radio.

Fortune

Fortune is a leading member of Dead Cell. Her codename refers to her seemingly supernatural ability to have bullets that come into her direction pass around her and also turn explosives into duds. She is also known as Lady Luck and has earned the title of "Queen" among her Dead Cell comrades. She is armed with a large-sized railgun during combat.

Vamp

Vamp is a member of Dead Cell (as such, he is one of the bosses of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty). He has vampire-like attributes, including a taste for blood, the ability to run across or stand on the surface of water or vertical walls, superhuman speed and agility, and the ability to shrug off what would typically be a mortal wound (for example, being shot in the head). Also, he does not seem to have aquired any of the vampire weaknesses. Besides the vampiric abilities, he is also an expert with both combat knives and throwing knives.

Revolver Ocelot

Also known as Shalashaska, ADAM, or Adamska. Revolver Ocelot began as a member of the rebellious FOXHOUND unit. Later on he evolved into a recurring agent of the Patriots. Ocelot takes pleasure in torturing hostages while interrogating them. He is clothed in a duster, spurs and gunbelts, the traditional garb of cowboys gunslingers.

Solidus Snake

The leader of a terrorist group known as the "Sons of Liberty" and the third "brother" of the Les Enfants Terribles project(includes Solid Snake and Liquid Snake). He serves as the 43rd President of the United States under the name of George Sears. After his resignation, he goes underground to avoid assassination, with the help of Revolver Ocelot. During this period, Solidus recruits the assistance of his former unit, Dead Cell, and Olga Gurlukovich's private army, establishing the terrorist group "Sons of Liberty". s
